KHOA THUONG

The predecessor of the Company was a research group on infectious diseases belonging to the Molecular Biology Laboratory – Department of Genetics – University of Natural Sciences – Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City. This research group was formed and developed since 2005 with the goal of researching and developing biotechnology products for disease diagnosis and treatment.

HISTORICAL MILESTONES

Khoa Thuong originated from an infectious disease research group within the Department of Genetics, University of Science – Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City, under the leadership of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ho Huynh Thuy Duong.

As early as 1997, the group pioneered the research and development of diagnostic kits for HBV, HCV, and other pathogens. This period marked the first steps in bringing applied biotechnology into practical use in Vietnam. In 2001, the project was evaluated as Excellent, becoming a crucial foundation that paved the way for the development of Khoa Thuong's product ecosystem in the years that followed.

1997 – The Beginning of a Vision

Originating from a research group at the University of Science, Ho Chi Minh City, Khoa Thuong has been a pioneer in molecular biology since 1997 and has built the foundational platform for today's ecosystem

2004 – Establishment of Khoa Thuong Biotechnology

Khoa Thuong was established on June 22, 2004 to develop high-quality, cost-effective diagnostic kits and to expand access to PCR–qPCR technologies in Vietnam

2016 – Breakthrough in Recombinant Protein Technology

In response to the need for diagnosing aberrant parasitic infections, Khoa Thuong developed a recombinant ELISA kit with superior performance

2024 – Advancing Into High-Technology Diagnostics

Khoa Thuong has expanded into next-generation sequencing (NGS), point-of-care testing (POCT), and capillary electrophoresis, with its products now widely adopted and beginning to enter export markets
